About Us

Ergonomics & Safety was established by Dr. Bae Han in order to provide high-quality consulting services in the areas of ergonomics and occupational safety.

Dr. Han is a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP). The areas of his expertise include workplace evaluation and design, equipment evaluation, manual materials handling, office ergonomics, safety regulations, safety programs, and training.

Dr. Han graduated from West Virginia University with a Ph.D. in Occupational Safety and Health in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering. He also obtained Master of Science Degree in Ergonomics in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Texas Tech University.

After completing his doctorate, he worked as a safety engineer at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). He participated in workplace design projects of risk assessment for foundry workers, and conducted research on anti-vibration glove test to improve the international standard test (ISO 10819).

Dr. Han has also teaching experiences in the area of occupational safety and health. As a visiting assistant professor, he taught courses in the Master of Environmental Health and Safety Program at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He also taught courses in the Department of Safety Sciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he has taught online courses in the occupational safety and health program at Columbia Southern University since 2011.

The courses that Dr. Han taught at the Universities include:

• Industrial Ergonomics

• Applied Ergonomics

• Safety Engineering

• Systems Safety Analysis

• Occupational Biomechanics

• Industrial Hygiene

• Epidemiology

Dr. Han is a member of the following professional societies:

• Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES)

• American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP)

• Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE)

Dr. Han has served as a referee for Ergonomics journal and published the following papers.
